When a sore throat or a cold strikes the first thing we often do is eat a cough drop, but sucking on lozenges can set you up for tooth decay. Despite being considered medicinal, some cough drops are very high in sugar. Since sugary foods contribute to tooth decay, it is always a good idea to read the ingredient labels on lozenges to find a brand that’s low in sugar.
