Yes. The test is easy to take and typically it is best taken at one of your bi-yearly exams. Since it is hard to see some cancers, this new and reliable test can be performed to detect lesions before they become visible. It is called Vizilite. The patient swishes a solution for one minute then the dentist shines a special light on your gums, tongue and cheeks so he or she can determine if you have suspicious areas. We recommend a Vizilite test once a year.
